Using Putty

  1. Head over to the PuTTY website and download the SSH client for Windows.
NOTE: Scroll down slightly to the "Alternative binary files" section and download the executable.

  1. Click on the application and you should see a window similar to the one below.

  1. You will need to specify the destination you want to connect to. In the Host Name (or IP Address) section, type in ubuntu.cse.unr.edu and hit Open.

  1. You will be prompted for a login. Type in your netID and your password.
NOTE: Your password will not show up as you are typing it, but the keys are still being accepted nonetheless.
