1. Open up your terminal by hitting {key COMMAND} + {key SPACEBAR} and typing in `terminal`.
2. Install [[ https://brew.sh/ | Homebrew ]] by pasting the line below into the terminal.

3. Hit the {key return} key and enter in your password when prompted.

4. You should see `==> Installation successful!` at the end.

5. Finally, head over to [[ https://atom.io/ | Atom's webiste ]] and download the Atom text editor to use.
